Pertamina to open tender for the construction of 10 tankers

State-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina plans to develop 10 new tankers and other type vessels worth US$220 million next year, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Wednesday.

Pertamina Senior Vice President for Shipping, Suhartoko said that the company would give priority to domestic shipping yard industry to build the tankers. He added that tender for the vessels will be held next year.

The 10 vessels will comprise of 6 general purpose type vessels, with a capacity of 17,500 dwt worth about $25 million per unit; and four tankers worth a combined $70 million. (*)
