Pertamina to open tender to find JV partners to develop blocks

State oil and gas company PT Pertamina will open tender in October to select partners to jointly develop its oil, gas fields in Sumatra.

Pertamina EP Operations Director Bagus Sudaryanto told reporters that the company has thus far been approved by shareholder to put four blocks to tender but said it might add two or three more blocks should shareholder approve the proposal.

Pertamina EP is on of an upstream arm of PT Pertamina.

He said most of the blocks are located in South Sumatra.

He did not give further detail.

Pertamina operates a number of gas fields throughout Indonesia, a significant number of which are considered to be under-explored. (godang)
