State owned oil and gas company Pertamina will open three biodiesel fuel stations in different locations in Jakarta later this month as part of the company's program to reduce the use of fossil-based diesel oil in the country, Suara Karya daily reported on Monday.

Pertamina's spokesman Abadi Poernomo said in Jakarta on Sunday that each of the new fuel stations were expected to sell about 8,000 liters of biodiesel oil per day.

"We are quite optimistic the new product will receive a positive response from the public," he said, adding that the product would be sold at a price of around Rp 5,800 per liter. (*)
