State owned oil and gas company Pertamina will increase the monthly oil imports within the next three months to ensure that the national fuel stocks would be sufficient to meet the demand for 21 days, the ideal stock level set by the company.
Pertamina’s spokesman Abadi Purnomo said in Jakarta on Tuesday that the monthly oil imports would be increased to above 12 million barrels beginning October to December, this year.
He said that to ensure sufficient fuel stocks, Pertamina would import oil of about 14.76 million barrels in October, about 12.88 million barrels in November and about 13 million barrels in December.
Pertamina, according to him, would purchase the oil through the existing contracts, and through the spot market. (dino)
