Pertamina to ramp up Subang gas production

State oil and gas company Pertamina had started CO2 removal program in its Subang gas field in west Java and expected gas output to more than triple after completion in 2004.

?After the completion of CO2 removal project in 2004, gas production could be ramped up to 200 million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD) from current 60 MMCFD,? said Pertamina president Baihaki Hakim in a parliamentary hearing in Jakarta late Tuesday.

Another Pertamina official Eteng A. Salam said Subang gas contains 30 percent of CO2.

He said gas the increase in gas production is expected to help satisfying increasing West Java gas demand. (alex/godang)
