PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is set to receive a shipment of 450,000 barrels of crude oil from Algeria as part of efforts to maintain feedstock supply for Indonesia's refining system.
The cargo is being transported by tanker MT Gamkonora, which departed from Arzew, Algeria, on May 14 and is expected to arrive at Cilacap, Central Java, in the coming days.
Corporate Secretary Roberth M.V. Dumatubun said the crude shipment will support national fuel production and help maintain energy supplies for households, industries and other economic activities.
According to Roberth, the company has monitored the vessel throughout its voyage to ensure cargo security, navigational safety and timely delivery.
Pertamina Patra Niaga has also coordinated with terminal operators, port authorities and other stakeholders involved in the unloading and subsequent distribution process to facilitate the cargo's arrival and handling.
The shipment comes as Indonesia continues to diversify crude supply sources and maintain refinery feedstock availability amid ongoing volatility in global energy markets.
Cilacap is home to one of Indonesia's largest refining complexes and serves as a key supplier of fuel products to Java and other regions.
