Pertamina to shut Cilacap refinery next month

State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina next month will shut Indonesia's biggest refinery for maintenance, the Dow Jones Newswires reported on Wednesday in Jakarta.
"We will shut down the refinery in late December for maintenance," Pertamina spokesman Mohammad Harun told Dow Jones Newswires.
The refinery at Cilacap, Central Java, has an output capacity of 230,000 barrels a day.
The shutdown won't disrupt domestic supply as Pertamina's current oil product reserves are equivalent to 24.5 days of consumption, a level that the company considers safe, he said.
"It is also the correct time as domestic consumption has recently fallen by 30%," he said, without elaborating.
Pertamina has nine refineries located throughout the country, with a total capacity of 1.06 million b/d.(*)
