State oil and gas company Pertamina will sign a deal with Singapore Power for the supply of natural gas from Sumatra to Singapore on Monday.

The deal will be signed at 9.45 am at the ministry of energy and mineral resources, according to an invitation obtained by Petromindo.Com on Friday.

Under preliminary agreements, Pertamina will supply Singapore Power's unit Gas Supply Limited with gas from the gas fields owned Pertamina's production sharing contractors (PSC) Gulf Indonesia Resources Grissik, Gulf Indonesia Resources Jabung and Santa Fe Energy Resources in South Sumatra and Jambi.

Pertamina and its contractors will supply the gas to the city-state for 20 years starting from 2003 via pipelines to be built by state gas distribution company PT PGN.

This will be the second gas export from Indonesia to Singapore after the gas exports from the West Natuna area in the South China Sea to Singapore. (Bodega)
