Pertamina to start seismic survey at Libya blocks

State oil and gas company PT.Pertamina (Persero) said on Monday that it would carry out seismic survey at its two blocks in Libya.

Upstream Director Karen Agustiawan told Petromindo.Com that Pertamina will shoot 1,000-km 3D seismic at Sabrata 17-3 offshore block starting September this year.

Pertamina is also in discussion with Libyan National Oil Corporation to determine the schedule to commence 300-km2 2D seismic on Sirte 123-3 onshore block.

Pertamina was awarded the two blocks in 2006.

Pertamina is obliged to drill two wells at each block in the first five years of exploration. (godang)
