Pertamina to start seismic survey in Iraq

State owned oil and gas PT Pertamina would conduct seismic survey activities at Block 3 of the Western Desert in Iraq in November, company president Ariffi Nawawi said Monday.

?Pertamina will allocate around US$20 million for the project,? Ariffi said.

Pertamina has already completed the administration work and opened an office in Iraq to carry out its activities in that country. Earlier, the company stopped its activities in the block due to the U.S. attack on Iraq.

Besides Western Desert project, Pertamina has also plans to invest in Tuba oil field, some 20 km west of Basra. (godang)
