Pertamina to stop fuel imports in 2015

State oil and gas company PT Pertamina will stop importing oil-based fuels in 2015 when production of its refineries is expected to increase.

"In 2015, we will no longer import fuels as the whole fuel supply will be produced by our refineries,? Pertamina president director Karen Agustiawan told a hearing with the House of Representatives? commission VI on industry on Thursday.

She said the company was stepping up efforts to increase production of its refineries across the country from currently 1.03 million barrels of oil per day to 1.5 million bopd in 2015.

?Hopefully an extra 80,000 bpd will come from the Dumai refinery, 200,000 bpd from Balongan and 150,000 bpd from West and East Java,? she said.

Pertamina has set a target of producing 1 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) in 2015, with 677,000 boepd from its subsidiaries Pertamina EP, Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) and Cepu.

"The rest will be generated from acquisition and shares in upstream business,? she said.

In the downstream sector, Pertamina expects to operate 25 percent of gas stations across the country by 2015.

?The whole plan will be presented during the shareholders meeting on May 6,? she said. (godang)
