Pertamina to take over Jambi, E. Java blocks

State oil and gas company PT Pertamina through its upstream subsidiary PT Pertamina EP said it would take over Ramba Technical Assistance (TAC) block onshore Jambi when contract with current operator expired this year.

Pertamina EP spokesperson M. Harun said on Friday that the block?s contract will expire in October 2010.

The block, which is currently producing about 4,500 BPD of oil, is operated by Elnusa Tristar Ramba.

Harun also said that Pertamina EP would take over Poleng TAC block offshore East Java from current operator South Korean firm Kodeco Energy when the block?s contract would expire in 2013.

TAC areas belonged to Pertamina and contracted to third parties to increase production over a period of time.

Pertamina has said that it would no longer apply TAC scheme on its oil, gas concessions. (bernard)
