Pertamina Tongkang to operate two new cargo vessels

PT Pertamina Tongkang, a subsidiary of state-run oil and gas company Pertamina, will operate two more vessels for oil fuel transport, state news agency Antara reported on Wednesday.

The company said the two cargo vessels are being built by state-owned shipbuilding company PT PAL Surabaya.

According to Tongkang president, Santoso Djokokoesoemo, the two units of vessel will strengthen the competitiveness of the company in cargo shipping in the country.

Santoso said the two units of 5,400 HP anchor handling tug & supply, are expected to join the fleet of Pertamina Tongkang in 2006.

The company posted Rp17.8 billion in pretax profit in the first half of this year.(*)
