Pertamina tug boat sinks

A tug boat called ?TB Sadang? which is owned by the state-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina sank on Tuesday at 3.20 a.m. off the northern coast of Java or some 7 Km from the Tanjung Pasir coast in Tangerang, the Neraca daily reported.

The paper quoted Pertamina public relations officer Awi Adil as saying that all 12 crews were saved.

He said that it was still not clear why the tug boat sank but it might have to do with bad weather condition and strong waves causing a leak at the boat.

The tug boat is used to pilot giant oil tankers.

Awi said that the accident would not affect the supply of fuel because Pertamina had a substitute for the boat.(*)
