State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina is turning around its refinery unit in Dumi, Riau province until the end of this month.
The Turnaround/Major Inspection program will last 38 days from Jan. 23 through Feb. 29.
A total of 94 vendors are involved in the work, with a total of 5,900 workers, including 3,600 locally recruited and 2,300 from outside the area.
?By involving local people -- 60 percent of workforce from local area, we hope it will empower the economy of the local people in Dumai,? refinery General Manager Afdal Martha said.
The refinery has a processing capacity of 127,000 bpd.
