Pertamina unit completes 21-km offshore pipeline project to support oil, gas output

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ), a subsidiary of state energy company Pertamina, has completed the installation of three subsea pipelines with a combined length of 21.24 km to improve the reliability of oil and gas production from its offshore North West Java block.
The pipelines were completed in the first half of 2026 under the company's Pipeline Renew and Replacement Project (PRRP), which is aimed at maintaining the integrity of offshore transportation infrastructure and reducing operational risks, PHE ONWJ said in a statement on Saturday.
The new pipelines connect the UWJ-B1C route between the Uniform and Bravo areas, the EF-EA route in the Echo area, and the BG-BC route in the Bravo area.
General Manager Muzwir Wiratama said offshore installation work took 169 days from Oct. 31, 2025, and was completed 10 days ahead of schedule.
The project recorded 854,765 accident-free work hours during construction, the company said.
PHE ONWJ said the new pipelines would help ensure the uninterrupted flow of production from wells connected to the network, equivalent to about 3,895 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and 6.9 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (mmscfd).
The company plans to continue the pipeline replacement programme in the second half of 2026 with construction of the 2.78-km BC-BPRO pipeline, scheduled for the fourth quarter.
In 2027, PHE ONWJ plans to carry out pipeline reinstatement work on the BF-BK-BPRO and FK-FC pipeline systems as part of its efforts to maintain the reliability of its offshore oil and gas transportation infrastructure.
The Offshore North West Java block is one of Pertamina's mature producing assets and supplies crude oil and natural gas to Indonesia's domestic energy market.
