Pertamina upstream discovers 43M barrels of oil and 892 BCF of gas in 2001

State oil and gas firm Pertamina said on Monday that during 2001, its upstream operations had managed to discover 43 million barrels of oil (MMBO) and 892 billion cubic feet (BCF) of gas.

Pertamina?s acting president director Muchsin Bahar told reporters in an press conference that among the significant discovery was 30.8 MMBO of crude in Bekasi Barat, West Java and Donggi in Central Kalimantan with the reserve of 880 BCF of gas and 5 million barrels of condensate.

Muchsin said that finding cost for 2001 discoveries stood at US$ 0.18 per barrel oil equivalent.

Meanwhile Pertamina upstream deputy director Eteng Salam said that for 2002, Pertamina targeted higher oil, gas discovery than 2001. (alex/godang)
