State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina has chosen FORAN to review the design of its future oil product carrier ships, under construction in a shipyard with the FORAN System.
Pertamina has signed a contract with SENER Ingenier?a y Sistemas S.A. (SENER) for the use of the FORAN FVIEWER application in the coming years, SENER said in a statement Thursday.
FVIEWER is part of the FORAN System, developed by SENER, and conducts an immersive navigation throughout the 3D model of the ship, allowing to query the model for properties and attributes, checking visual interferences and making annotations.
The solution has the necessary capabilities to measure clearances and distances and to study ergonomics in complex areas such as the engine room. FVIEWER can handle very efficiently even the big and dense scenes from the complete ship.
FVIEWER is a key tool in the review of the 3D design for PERTAMINA, who has experienced the power and ease of use of the acquired solution. SENER and Pertamina hope to keep collaborating for future projects.
SENER, through this agreement with the Indonesian giant, increases its role in Asia Pacific as a key partner of CAD / CAM tools for the ship design and production in the region.
