Speaking during a hearing with the Commission VII of the House of Representatives (DPR) on Monday, BPMIGAS chairman R. Priyono said that the government?s portion of crude oil which had not been sold by Pertamina had reached about 11 million barrels since the end of last year.
?Pertamina said it could not sell the government?s portion of the crude oil it produced from its oil wells due to weather and shipment problem,? he said, adding that BPMIGAS would soon send a warning letter to ensure that Pertamina would no longer delay the sales of the crude oil.
If Pertamina is still unable to sell the government?s crude oil, the government will launch a tender to handle the sale of the crude oil, he said.
Under the existing contracts of works, the government normally receives 85 percent of the total crude oil produced by production sharing contractors (PSC) including Pertamina.
Priyono also said the country's natural gas output reached 7,780 MMCFD in January, 7,673 MMCFD in February, 7,592 MMCFD in March, 7,288 MMCFD in April, 7,629 in May. While the oil and condensate output averaged 985,872 BPD in March, 973,137 BPD in April and 991,668 BPD in May. (Bernard)
