State oil and gas mining company Pertamina has secured the right to distribute subsidized fuel in 2008, outbidding Malaysian firm Petronas and local firm PT Aneka Kimia Raya in tender, Kontan Daily reported on Wednesday.
Ibrahim Hasim, a committee member of downstream oil and gas regulating body BPH Migas, said in Jakarta on Tuesday that Pertamina won the tender because the company has a bigger fuel storage capacity and more reliable distribution facilities than the two other bidders.
?We do no want to put the distribution of fuel at stake,? he said.
BPH Migas's chairman Tubagus Haryono would officially announce the result of the tender on December 27, 2007, he added. (*)
