State owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has named state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina as winner in the tender to supply marine fuel oil (MFO) to its Pontianak diesel power plant in West Kalimantan.
PLN has also named the consortium of BP Plc and PT Kutilang Mas as winner in the tender to supply high speed diesel (HSD) to PLTGU Belawan combined cycle power plant in North Sumatra, PLN?s Oil Fuels and Gas Division Suryadi Mardjoeki said on Tuesday.
The contract won by Pertamina involves the supply of 300,000 kiloliters of MFO over a period of one year in 2013.
?Pertamina?s offered price is much lower than the ones offered by its rivals. Its strongest rival is PT Aneka Kimia Raya,? Suryadi explained, while refusing to specify the prices.
?We are happy that Pertamina offered a price which is lower than the regular one,? he said.
Meanwhile, the consortium of BP and PT Kutilang Mas will supply PLTGU Belawan with 250,000 kiloliters of HSD for one year starting next year, Suryadi said, adding the consortium managed to beat out Pertamina in the tender.
PLTGU Belawan now gets HSD supplies from PT Trans Pacific Petrochemical Indonesia, according to Suryadi.
?We shall go to Singapore to carry out a due diligence on the refinery from which the consortium will source the HSD supply,? he said.
