Pertamina wins tender for Aceh geothermal area

State owned firm PT Pertamina has won the tender for a geothermal working area in Suelawah Agam, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, beating out Chevron Geothermal.

?Yes, Suelawah Agam has been awarded to Pertamina,? Trisnaldi, Geothermal Director at the Directorate General of New and Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation, told Petromindo.com.

Separately, President Director of PT Chevron Geothermal Indonesia Paul Mustakim confirmed that that Pertamina has ?apparently? won the tender.

Previous reports say four companies participated in the tender, including Chevron, Pertamina, a consortium of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) and Origin Tata Prima, and a consortium of Toba Lestari and Ormat.
