Perusda Sulsel to develop mini LNG plant

PT Perusda Sulsel, which is owned by the South Sulawesi provincial administration, plans to set up a business of distributing LNG to eastern Indonesian region, Bisnis.com reported on Tuesday.

Perusda Sulsel?s President Director Haris Hody said the firm will cooperate with Norwegian firm GO LNG in the LNG transportation and receiving terminal. The firm will get LNG from the Sengkang LNG plant which is capable of supplying the firm with 70 mmbtu of gas, which is enough to generate 2x350 MW of power.

In the beginning, the firm will supply the mini LNG to Bali, Makassar, Gorontalo and Manado.

The project is estimated to cost US$300 million, including the provision of LNG vessels.

Haris did not provide details regarding the location of the project and the schedule of the projet?s construction. (*)
