Pesona Khatulistiwa bags coal supply contract from China?s Petrocom

East Kalimantan coal miner PT.Pesona Nusantara Khatulistiwa has bagged long-term contract to supply low rank coal to Petrocom Energy limited of China, Bisnis Indonesia reported.

CEO Jeffrey Muljono said that the contract called for supply of 2 million tonnes of coal per annum for 5 years. First shipment expected May 2008 with volume of 420,000 tonnes in that year, ramping up to 2 MTPA until 2013.

Jeffrey said the coal sold to Petrocom would have CV of 3,500 Kcal/kg with moisture of 43 percent, adding that both parties are now negotiating price.

Pesona is expected to produce 750,000 tonnes of coal this year.

Jeffrey said Huabei-based Petrocom would use Pesona coal for blending.

Pesona has also been selected as supplier for the proposed 2x12 MW Gorontalo power plant in Gorontalo province, supplying 120,000 tonnes of low rank coal to the plant starting 2010, Jeffrey said.
