PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara, a subsidiary of PT Bhakti Energi Persada, recently stated that the production of its mine site in Kelubir block, East Kalimantan failed to meet its production target of 375,000 tons in the last two months due to weather problem.
Pesona Khatulistiwa's President Director Jeffrey Mulyono told Petromindo.com that the company only managed to secure 267,000 tons of coal from Kelubir block in the January through February period.
?We hope the production will be back to normal in April,? he said.
Kelubir block, which contained the coal reserve of 20 million tons, started production in 2009 with the annual output of 1.5 million tons, of which 65 percent was exported to India and the rest to China.
In a recent statement the company said its Sekayan block would start production next month.
