Pesona Khatulistiwa starts coal exploration at Rangau concession

Coal mining company PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara (PKN) plans to start construction stage at its Rangau coal concession in Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan, next year, in the hope that production can start in 2016.
Jeffrey Mulyono, President Director of PKN told Petromindo.com on Friday that the company has recently started exploration activity at the concession after obtaining the forestry permit a couple of months ago.
The company has set an initial production target from the concession at about 250,000 tons in the first year, and to jump up to 2 million tons in the following year. The total size of the concession is 4,536 hectares, containing low CV coal.
