Pesona Khatulistiwa to start producing low rank coal from Sekayan

PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara, a subsidiary of PT Bhakti Energi Persada is to start producing coal from its Sekayan block, Bulungan Regency, East Kalimantan this month, Pesona Khatulistiwa's President Director Jeffrey Mulyono told Petromindo.com
Jeffrey said that initially the production was planned to commence in January 2012, but it was delayed due to disruption of hauling road development and land clearance compensation.
According to Jeffrey, the coal which is of calorific value of 3,000 kcal/kg will be exported to India. "We have several committed buyers from India to absorb the coal," said Jeffrey. The company is targeting to produce 1.5 million tons of low rank coal from the Sekayan block this year.
