State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina’s subsidiary Pertamina Trading Energy Limited (Petral) has admitted that it once proposed to sell liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from the government-owned Bontang refinery, the Bisnis Indonesia newspaper reported in its Tuesday edition.

Petral’s president director Arie H. Soemarno said Petral, Pertamina and oil and gas regulating authority BP Migas are still discussing the plan to sell LPG from Bontang.

“We have already proposed to sell LPG from Bontang. If BP Migas appoints Petral as a selling agent, we will be transparent and give the best price,” Arie told theBisnis on Monday in Jakarta.

Moreover, Petral is already managing LPG terminal at Tanjung Uban on Bintan Island. This terminal is owned by Pertamina.

Arie said Petral has not received any letter regarding sale of LPG from Bontang from BP Migas.

This was confirmed by BP Migas’ downstream director Harry Poernomo. He said BP Migas has not yet appointed Petral to sell LPG from Bontang. (*)
