PetroChina Jabung reclamation program considered a success

PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. (PCJL) has been considered successful in carrying out reclamation program at Siantan #1 exploration well in Tanjung Jabung Barat regency, Jambi province, upstream authority SKK Migas said in a statement on Wednesday.

In appreciation of the achievement, Director General of the Supervision of River and Conservation Zones at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Dr. Hilman Nugroho paid a visit to the reclamation site on Wednesday.

The successfully-executed program has made PetroChina as a model for other oil and gas firms which have secured permit of land utilization for exploration well drilling, SKK Migas said.

PCJL?s Permit Matters Manager Woro Sutjiningsih said the reclamation program, which ran for vie years from June 2010, was executed on around 3.3 ha of the around 6.4 ha area where the firm was allowed to carry out exploration. As part of the reclamation program, the firm has planted various types of local crops there. The area has now been designated as conservation zone under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Decree No S.106/PDASHL/KTA/DAS.I/6/2016 signed on Jun 6, 2016 by Director General Hilman.
