PetroChina offers Indonesia EOR technology

PetroChina, China?s largest oil producer has offered Indonesia enhanced oil recovery technology in order to support its investments in the country, Oil and Gas Director General Iin Arifin Takhyan told Petromindo.com Wednesday.

The offer was made in Jakarta Wednesday during a meeting between PetroChina?s executive director Su Shulin and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro. Iin and Shou Xuancheng, who heads PetroChina's overseas oil exploration unit, PetroChina International Ltd, attended the meeting.

PetroChina officials said in the meeting that it had no plan to acquire new oil blocks in Indonesia, Iin said.

The company has strengthened its foothold in Indonesia by adding 12.5 percent interest in Jabung block from Amerada Hess, making the company?s interest in the block increased to 42.5 percent.

Last year, PetroChina acquired interest in six Indonesian oil, gas blocks in cluding Jabung block from Oklahoma-based Devon Energy. (godang)
