Petrochina plans to drill two wells in Sorong this year

Petrochina International (Bermuda) Ltd plans to drill two more wells in North Klalin, around Sorong area, West Papua this year after anouncing gas discovery recently, an official at the upstream authority BPMIGAS said.
?The well test results show potential production of 5 mmscfd. This well will be put on production,? Head of BPMIGAS for Java, Papua and Maluku Hadi Prasetyo told Petromindo.com. Hadi refers to North Klalin-1 exploration well, the drilling of which was completed late last year.
Hadi said Petrochina is currently waiting for approval from BPMIGAS to drill two more wells.
The discovery on North Klalin field is close to the existing production fields within Kepala Burung PSC, which makes it possible to put the field on production this year.
PetroChina International (Bermuda) Ltd. is owned by four shareholders, that are PetroChina International 30. %, Petrogas (Basin) Ltd 34.064%, RHP Salawati Basin BV 25.936%, and PT Pertamina Hulu Energy 10%.
