Chinese oil giant PetroChina is currently producing 59,000 barrels oil equivalent per day (BOEPD) from its Jabung PSC onshore Jambi, the company?s said in statement on Thursday.

PetroChina is producing oil and gas from North Geragai, Makmur, North Betara, Northeast Betara and Gemah fields

North Geragai and Makmur were in production since 1998. Together the fields now produce 2,700 barrels of oil, 30 million cubic feet of sales gas, 650 barrels of condensate and 1,100 barrels of LPG daily.

North Betara, Northeast Betara, and Gemah went into production in 2000. To process the liquid rich gases flowing from these fields, PetroChina has built processing facilities at Batara (completed in 2005), that now can process up to 250 million cubic feet of raw gas into 100 million cubic feet of sales gas, 10,000 barrels of condensate and 1,380 metric tons of LPG.

Under a 20-year agreement, PetroChina and two other gas suppliers sell up to 350 million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of natural gas to Singapore Power. In 2008, PetroChina supplies 41 per cent of the volume or 130 MMCFD. The gas is transported via a 450 km pipeline connecting with the Corridor-Duri pipeline system through Batam island to Singapore.

Oil and gas was found at Ripah in 2001, at West Betara in 2004 and at Southwest Betara in 2005. In 2007, PetroChina drilled 6 exploration wells. Petrochina found oil and gas at five wells with a proven total flow rate of 2066 BOEPD and 39 MMCFD.

Petrochina has also made discoveries in Panen, Suko, Lumbung and Merta fields. The highly promising fields are expected to hold between 90 billion and 1,500 billion cubic feet of natural gas and between 5 million and 100 million barrels of oil

PetroChina is the operator of the Jabung block with 27.85715 percent interest. Other shareholders are Petronas Carigali (27.85715 percent), PP Oil&Gas (Indonesia-Jabung) Ltd (30 percent) and PT.Pertamina (Persero) (14.28570 percent). (godang)
