PetroChina to supply gas to PLN Batam

Chinese firm PetroChina will send gas to the power plant owned by PT Perusahaan Listrik Negera (PLN) in Batam from its Jabung PSC in central Sumatra for three days from May 23, Saturday the time when ConocoPhilips shuts down operation.
Director General of Electricity and Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Jakobus Purwono said in Jakarta on Thursday that the gas from PetroChina would ensure PLN will be able to continue operation during the ConocoPhilips shutdown.
PLN Batam needs gas supply of about 15 million standard cubic feet (MMCFD) for Saturday, about 5 MMCFD for Sunday and about 25 MMCFD for Monday.
State-owned gas distribution company PT PGN has announced it will stop gas supply to Batam and Singapore during the three day period from ConocoPhillips? Corridor Block in Grissik, South Sumatra. (bernard)
