PetroChina vows to stop gas blowout this week

PetroChina, the operator of the Jabung PSC block, in Jambi, has promised to stop the gas blowout at the block?s Gemah-21 well this week.
?We shall kill the blowout this week. Now, we are waiting for equipments and experts from Houston to come to complete the work,? vice president Budi Setiadi said on Tuesday.
The blowout incident took place last Friday.
Jabung block is currently exporting gas to Singapore via pipeline.
PetroChina and Malaysian oil company Petronas each has 42.5 percent working interest in the block, with state oil and gas company PT Pertamina has the remaining 15 percent.(godang)
