Petrogas updates activities at Basin and Island PSCs

SGX-listed RH Petrogas Limited announced on Wednesday it is testing several wells in Kepala Burung PSC (also known as Salawati Basin PSC) in West Papua, namely Klagalo-1 exploration well, Klalin-15 development well and Klalin-17 development well.

Klagalo-1 exploration well onshore Basin is being tested after wire-line logging indicates potential hydrocarbon zones from the Kais limestone. The test result is scheduled to be announced in next month.

The Klalin-15 development well onshore Basin is being tested to confirm flow rate of gas and condensate. Final test results will be announced next month.

The Klalin-17 development well onshore Basin is being tested to confirm flow rate of gas and condensate. Final test results will be announced next month.

The firm also said its Koi-2 appraisal well offshore the Salawati Kepala Burung PSC (also known as Island PSC) in West Papua is scheduled to start spudding by end of November 2013. The firm will announce the result of the spudding in January 2014.

The firm also said it targeted to receive the government approval for the Plan of Development for the North Klalin field in Island in March 2014.

Petrogas, through subsidiary Petrogas (Basin) Ltd, has 34.06 percent working interest Basin PSC with partners including Petrochina International Bermuda Ltd (30 percent), RHP Salawati Basin BV (25.936 percent), PHE Salawati Basin (10 percent).

The company through its wholly owned subsidiaries Petrogas (Island) Ltd. and RHP Salawati Island B.V. has an aggregate 33.21 percent working interest in Island PSC. The other partners in the PSC are PetroChina International Kepala Burung Ltd. (16.79 percent) and PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Salawati (50 percent). The Island PSC is operated by JOB Pertamina-PetroChina Salawati, which is a joint operating body formed between Pertamina and PetroChina.
