Oil and gas contractor Pasir Petroleum Resources Ltd (PPRL) started on Wednesday drilling program at the Kinanti-1 well in Pasir Blengkong, Paser Regency, East Kalimantan.

Paser Regent Ridwan Suidi, speaking at a ceremony to mark the inaugural drilling, welcome the program, and hoped the company would be successful in it so that it would also benefit the regency in terms of contributing to the welfare of the local people.

The Kinanti-1 well is located in the Pasir oil and gas working area, operated by the company following the signing of the contract on May 5, 2009. With a depth of 7,000 feet, the well is located about 8 km from the capital city of Paser Regency.

PPRL is currently the only oil and gas contractor operating in the regency.
