Petronas Carigali West Glagah Kambuna Ltd, a unit of Malaysia?s Petronas Carigali is scheduled to spud the Pakol South-1 well in the West Glagah Kambuna block, Aceh, in October or November of this year.

?According to the schedule, it (Petronas) will drill one well in October-November, Head of Drilling and Survey Division at upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, Arief Fanshuri told Petromindo.com Monday.

He said that the drilling work will use the Rowan rig after it completes drilling at an unspecified asset of US oil and gas firm Hess Corp.

In June, Peronas said it was reevaluating the operation of the entire block after gas found at the Tanjung Perling-1 well in the West Glagah Kambuna block was considered to be non-commercial.

The block is managed by consortium of Petronas Carigali (West Glagah Kambuna) Ltd and PT Pertamina Hulu Energi West Glagah Kambuna. The block was awarded in November 2009.

West Glagah Kambuna block is located at the North Sumatra offshore, which is around 40 miles from Belawan.
