Petronas carries out DST at South Bukit Tua

Petronas Carigali, the upstream arm of Malaysian energy giant Petronas Bhd, is carrying out drill stem test (DST) on South Bukit Tua-1 (SBT-1) exploration well in the Ketapang II block offshore East Java after recently finalizing drilling there.

?The well has been tdped and Petronas is now carrying out a series of 4 drill stem tests (DST),? Hadi Prasetyo, upstream authority BPMIGAS Regional Bureau Chief for Central Java, East Java, Papua, and Maluku areas, told Petromindo.Com.

The first DST indicates the presence of oil in the range of 500-600 barrels per day (bpd), according to Hadi

?We shall officially declare (the discovery) after all the DSTs have been completed,? he said.
