Petronas opens 1st gas station in Indonesia

Malaysian state oil company Petronas on Thursday opened its first gas station in the country, making it the second foreign player after Royal/Dutch Shell to open fuel retail operations in Indonesia.
The gas station, which is located in Cibubur, near Jakarta, is built with an investment of US$1.2 million. The company will also operate another gas station in South Jakarta this year.
The company plans to build 200 gas stations in Indonesia until 2011, Kamarulzaman M. Hasyim, president of Petronas Niaga Indonesia told reporters. (godang)
