Petronas quits E. Java exploration block

Malaysian state oil, gas firm Petronas is giving up Karapan exploration block offshore East Java following failure to find commercial hydrocarbon in the block.
BPMIGAS Exploration Division Head Bob Yulian told Petromindo.Com on Friday that the relinquishment process is currently being handled by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
Petronas and the block?s previous operator had drilled several wells in the block with some yielded hydrocarbon discoveries. (godang)
