Petronas to build 10 fuel stations in 2005

Malaysia state-owned oil and gas firm Petroliam Nasional Bhd's (Petronas) marketing subsidiary PT Petronas Niaga Indonesia (PNI) is planning to build between 5 and 10 fuel stations on Java Island to distribute its fuel products in Indonesia next year.

PNI president director Faris Mustaffa said Thursday the plans included building a fuel storage on the island. “We have allocated about US$30 million investment for this project,” Mustaffa added.

Mustaffa added that PNI would sell Petronas group fuel product namely Primas High Octane 97.

Petronas, together with PT Kirdapetra Graha (Shell), PT Elnusa, PT Sigma Rancang Perdana, has obtained licenses to sell high-octane based fuel products in Indonesia. Meanwhile, PT Raven Sejahtera is to sell aviation fuels. (godang)
