Petrosea gets coal mining contract from E. Kalimantan miner

Mining and oil& gas contractor PT. Petrosea Tbk. announced on Monday that it had secured US$ 11 million, 12-month coal mining and overburden removal contract for coal miner PT. Bukit Baiduri Energi near Samarinda, East Kalimantan.
Petrosea, a subsidiary of Australian engineering firm Clough Ltd., first commenced coal contract operations in 1995, but demobilized for the site in 2002, after Bukit Baiduri decided to temporary halt production.
According to Petrosea the work centers around the enlarging of an older previously worked pit in close proximity to the processing facility on the Mahakam River and will involve activities required to recover and deliver to stockpile approximately 650,000 tons of coal during the 12-month contract commencing immediately.
