Petrosea, Pamapersada awarded S. Kalimantan coal-mining contract

Publicly listed oil, mining contractor firm PT Petrosea Tbk announced on Tuesday that the company, in joint operation with Indonesia?s largest coalmining contractor PT Pamapersada Nusantara had been awarded a major coal-mining contract in South Kalimantan by PT Dasa Eka Jasatama, a local coal mining concession holder.
Petrosea?s corporate secretary Andrew Holborn told Petromindo.Com via phone that production was expected to commence mid-February this year with output of 100,000 tons of coal a month could be reached as early as March.
According to Holborn, the project involves stripping of overburden, mining and hauling coal 35 kilometers to the clients crushing facility near Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan.
The contract is for an initial 11 months period with an option to extend for an additional three years. The initial phase of the contract is valued at over US$ 12 million.
Petrosea is a subsidiary Australia?s Clough Engineering Group. (alex)
