Coal trading and services company PT Petrovina is targeting to buy and sell 600,000 tons of coal this year, four times last year?s amount of 150,000 tons.

Alexander Awanata, Director of Petrovina told Petromindo.com on Thursday that the demand from the domestic market is increasing.

?So far this year, we have received purchasing orders amounting to about 50,000 ton each month, mostly from the manufacturing industry in West Java,? he said.

?The manufacturers just purchased many new boilers, and most of which are scheduled to come into operation this year. That?s why the demand for coal is increasing,? he said.

Alexander revealed that coal sold by Petrovina are sourced from South Sumatra and South Kalimantan. Aside from trading coal, the firm also sells non-subsidized High Speed Diesel (HSD) to mining and other industries in Indonesia.
