PGE expects additional 165 MW power output next year

PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, said that it will produce an additional 165 MW of power output next year from the operation of a number of its geothermal power plants.
PGE President Director Irfan Zainuddin said in a statement obtained Monday that the company?s geothermal power plants that would start operation in 2017 included PLTP Karaha uni 1 with capacity of 35 MW, Ulubelu unit with capacity of 55 MW, Lumut Balai 55 MW, and Lahendong 20 MW.
He said that PGE currently operates geothermal power plants with total capacity of 512 MW.
He added that as new geothermal power plants are being developed by the company, which are part of the government?s 35,000 MW power plants development program, the total capacity in 2019 or 2020 is projected to increase to 900 MW.
