PGE, Geothermal New Zealand to sign MoU today

PT Pertamina Geothermal Energi (PGE) will cooperate with Geothermal New Zealand (GEONZ) to develop geothermal energy in Indonesia including in exploration and research activities.
"We will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the development of geothermal energy in Indonesia, especially in the field of capability development, with Geothermal New Zealand,? PGE president director Slamet Riyadi told Petromindo.com in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, PGE Corporate Secretary Adiyatma Sarjito said the cooperation would be mostly in exploration activities. ?We will cooperate in exploration, reserve studies and in the operation of binary turbines,? he added.
The MoU will be signed in Jakarta on Tuesday with the presence of Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik and New Zealand Minister of Trade Hon Tim Groser, according to the energy and mineral resources ministry spokesman Susyanto.
