PGE holding EPCC tender for Karaha Bodas power plant

PT Pertamina Geothermal Energi (PGE) announced on Monday that it will carry out the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) tender for the 1x30 ME geothermal Karaha Bodas power plant in West Java.
In a tender announcement, the company said the EPCC works cover the construction of production and reinjection facilities as well as the power plant with all its supporting facilities and infrastructure.
The project, locally known as PLTU Karaha Bodas, is one of six geothermal power plant projects the company plans to build within the next four years. The other five are PLTU Ulubelu in Tanggamus, Lampung, PLTP Hululais in Bengkulu, PLTP Lumut Balai in South Sumatra, PLTP Sungai Penuh in Jambi and PLTP Kotamobagu in North Sulawesi.
At present, the company produces 292 megawatt of electricity from three geothermal power plants including PLTP Kemojang in West Java, PLTP Lahendong in North Sulawesi and PLTU Sibanyak in North Sumatra.
