PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PT PGE), a subsidiary of state oil and gas company Pertamina, plans to develop new wells in the company?s Kamojang geothermal field in West Java as part of its expansion program, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Saturday.

PGE Area Kamojang produces geothermal power of 200 megawatt at present, a 70 percent increase from 30 MW during the initial production in early 1973. ?The geothermal is produced from 87 wells,? he said.
Taviv said that PGE Area Kamojang has so far operated four geothermal production units, which produce steam and electricity. Steam which could generate 140 MW of electricity produced from units 1, 2 and 3 are sold to PLN?s subsidiary Indonesia Power. ?The unit 4 produces electricity of 60 MW and is sold to PLN,? he added.
