PGE ready to drill Ulubelu 3 and 4

PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) is scheduled to start drilling at Ulubelu 3 and 4 fields later this month.

?Infrastructure preparation works at Cluster I have been done. Rig mobilization to Cluster 1 has been 55 percent complete and Ulubelu 3 is scheduled for CoD (Commercial Operation Date) in January 2016,? PGE Director of Planning and Development Khairul Rozaq said in a statement on Tuesday.

Each of Ulubelu 3 and 4 has maximum potentials to generate 55 MW. PGE has operated two power units at the location, Ulubelu 1 and 2, each with the generation capacity of 55 MW as well, starting in 2012.

During a recent site visit by PGE top executives including Khairul and PGE Operation Director Sigit Rahardjo, PGE Ulubelu General Manager Adnan Chaniago explained that PLTP Ulubelu 1 and 2 had reached production target.

?As far as Ulubelu 3 and 4 are concerned, the administrative tender is now in progress while tender participants made site visit end of August. The target is (the two power units) can start selling power to PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) in early 2016 and early 2017,? Adnan said.

Ulubelu is located in an area covering two villages, Pagaralam and Muaradua in Talangpadang district, about 125 km from Lampung?s provincial capital of Bandar Lampung.
