PGE to drill 19 geothermal wells

In order to further increase its geothermal reserve, PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) plans to drill 19 new wells in nine locations this year, the company?s president director Slamet Riyadi said.
The new wells will include four exploration and 15 development wells, Slamet told Petromindo.com. He said that the exploration wells are PLTP Hululais 1, PLTP Sungai Penuh 1, and PLTP Kotamobagu.
Slamet said the company expected additional power supply of 55 megawatt from the first unit of geothermal power plant PLTP Ulubelu in June, this year. ?This will increase our geothermal power capacity to 347 MW from 292 MW at present,? he added.
